I based this piece off of the tale of Little Red Riding Hood. Instead of meeting a wolf in the woods, she encounters dangerous crocodiles in the swamp. I found a girl walking and added a cape
to represent that she is little red riding hood. I put in three crocodiles surrounding her. The reflections were important to add because the swamp is very clear and the trees have an almost exact replication in their reflection. The original background was green. To enunciate the red in her cape, I changed the hue of the background to be red, but I wanted it to be more dramatic. I changed the paint brush mode to saturation and removed the color in everything but the trees, her cape, and the crocodiles, so they would stand out. I took on a darker interpretation of the common fairy tale.

Hybrid Animal
For this artwork, I combined a frog, whale, and turtle to create a Wurgle. The frog represents agility, speed, and jumping and it symbolizes fitness. The whale represents peace and friendliness. The turtle stands for grace and a calm and composed attitude. All three animals have some connection to water, which is something close to me in my life. The Wurgle's nest needs improvement, but I think that the sense of space was depicted well in this artwork. On the closest Wurlge, I angled him in a way that made the head seem larger and the tail seem smaller so it look like it was swimming towards you and not horizontally. I also placed a Wurgle near the ship wreck, made it smaller in size, and turned the opacity down. I was also able to show the predators by inserting the shadow of a lurking shark. I think that people who have a connection to the ocean and marine life will enjoy this piece of artwork. I was able to learn and experiment using the cloning tool while creating the hybrid animal.
